SEDEC & CIATEQ, an alliance for innovation in local companies

In order to create alliances and promote strategies that contribute to the growth of different industrial sectors of the State, the Secretary of Economic Development Manuel Alejandro González Martínez, held a working meeting with the executive staff of the Advanced Technology Center, CIATEQ, Aguascalientes unit.

“One of our objectives is to serve as a bridge for research centers to enhance their capabilities and contribute to the resolution of technological and innovation challenges that local companies are facing, by giving them the tools they need to increase their competitivity”, affirmed the Secretary.

González Martínez pointed that the appropriation of technology in the different processes of the industry represents an important step that allows them to – for example – increase their production, reduce operative costs, and improve their products quality, hence the importance of establishing collaborative relations with knowledge centers.

In his intervention, Sergio Luna Flores, Director of the Aguascalientes unit, highlighted the human talent and infrastructure that CIATEQ has in the following areas: virtual and manufacturing engineering, plant engineering and construction, plastics and advanced materials, mechanic systems, measurement systems, information technologies, electronics and control, and the postgraduate offer.

Finally, they agreed to start work to establish new support mechanisms for small and medium-sized enterprises that require specialized services to boost their business, as well as follow up on the Intervention model for the strengthening competitiveness in the supply chain of the automotive and auto parts sector.
