“None of us is as good as all of us.”
– Mark McClain, CEO of SailPoint and 2025 Austin Tech Hall of Fame Inductee
On May 7, more than 250 members of the Austin tech community came together on the 35th floor of the Indeed Tower to celebrate a night that truly reflected the strength, legacy, and future of our innovation ecosystem.
The Austin Tech Hall of Fame and First Time Founder Awards Reception was a powerful reminder that Austin didn’t become a tech hub by accident… it happened because people consistently showed up to lead, build, mentor, and invest in others.
2024 Austin Tech Hall of Fame
We honored eight Foundational / Legacy Inductees, individuals who laid the groundwork for the thriving community we see today. These are the trailblazers who took risks, built companies, fostered talent, and made Austin a place where innovation thrives. (See the full list of inductees at austintechhalloffame.com).
The 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee, Mark McClain, co-founder and CEO of SailPoint, reminded us through both his example and his words that real progress is always a team effort. His leadership style… rooted in values, trust, and consistency… has shaped more than a company; it has helped shape a culture.
We also presented the First Time Founder Award to Matt Angle, founder and CEO of Paradromics. His company is at the cutting edge of neurotechnology, and his work embodies the bold spirit of Austin’s next generation of innovators.
What made the evening especially meaningful was the diversity of leaders in the room. Founders, investors, civic leaders, service providers, technologists, and first-time attendees gathered to celebrate not just individual accomplishments… but a shared belief in the power of community. The conversations were forward-thinking, the energy was high, and yes, the view of the Austin skyline was spectacular.
A heartfelt thank you to our Community Champion sponsors: KPMG, Egan Nelson LLP, Indeed, and Reddit. Their support made this celebration possible… and their investment in our community moves us all forward.
The Austin Technology Council is proud to steward the Austin Tech Hall of Fame, and this is only year two of an eight-year journey to get it “Launched”. We invite more companies to join us in supporting this work… not only to honor the past, but to shape the future.
Together, we build a stronger tech community.
