Established in 1982 as a non-profit, Texas Advocacy Project’s mission is to prevent domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking throughout Texas through FREE legal services, access to the justice system, and education.
In 2019, Texas Advocacy Project served 4,738 clients, impacting the lives of 10,659 survivors and their children. In addition to legal services, Texas Advocacy Project provides free trainings and education to thousands of individuals across Texas including judges, prosecutors, crime victim services personnel, legal advocates, medical professionals, universities, and students.
Throughout the year, our Hope Campaigns (Handbags for Hope, Backpacks for Hope, Teen Ambassadors of Hope & Hope for the Holidays) bring the community together to raise awareness of power-based abuse.
You can support the critical work we do, by joining us at an upcoming event, such as our Kentucky Derby Watch Party, Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 at W Austin. Austinites are invited to don their springtime fashion and express their inner Southern Belle as they enjoy the beautiful spring weather to view the “greatest two minutes in sports” on the big screen! Attendees will be treated to a Ben Milam whiskey tasting, a complementary mint julep, music on the patio, a pop-up hat shop and best dressed contest.
