The Google Fiber Webpass Network Operations team is dedicated to providing our customers a simple, fast, and reliable internet service.

In this role, you will participate in the configuration, monitoring,
maintaining, and outage response of our network infrastructure to keep our network running smoothly for our customers. You will collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to ensure the timely implementation and expansion of our network.

Responsibilities:
– Configure, monitor, and maintain the network infrastructure and improve monitoring to proactively identify potential network deficiencies.
– Respond to network outages in a timely manner and provide weekend outage response support for on-call team members.
– Evaluate protocols and device firmware/software to improve network
performance and stability.
– Participate in the scoping, designing, and implementing network related projects and designs.
– Design, create, and iterate business-critical documentation and configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure.
Minimum qualifications:
– 2 years of experience in switched network in a Network Administrative/Engineer role
– Experience with switched network implementation and managing IPv6
– Experience managing and maintaining network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, etc.)
– Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols (e.g., OSPF and BGP)
Preferred qualifications:
– CCNA certification or equivalent practical experience
– Experience configuring equipment (e.g., switches, servers, radios, etc.)
– Experience configuring and troubleshooting OSPF with excellent troubleshooting skills across Layers 1, 2, and 3
– Understanding of switched network implementation and best practices
