vcfo has been engaged to hire an experienced Financial Controller for one of our growing clients! This role is an exciting challenge for those who are looking to support a rapidly growing international AdTech company. You will work with and report directly to the CFO. Your main tasks will vary on a daily basis, but could include critical projects related to audits, working with investors, and supporting our numerous subsidiaries.
To succeed in this role, you should be a US-experienced controller in US GAAP and preferably be certified in NetSuite. They are an internationally dispersed company who is passionate about helping developers of any size to establish and scale profitable mobile app businesses. Sound interesting yet??
What you’ll do:
Own the closing process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, controls and the preparation of the consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP Supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities while actively considering management’s objectives Manage, prepare and present month-end, quarterly, and annual for internal and external reporting requirements. Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions Multinational subsidiary advisement and monthly consolidation Manage oversight of key third party resources, supporting accounting, tax, legal, equity and compliance-related needs for the business Analysis of pertinent accounting standards and provide well-supported documentation of positions, recommendations and conclusions Design, implement, maintain and enforce company policies, processes and internal controls (financial transactions and financial reporting) Act as a key cross-functional business partner to the CFO and others within the organization by preparing ongoing key deliverables and contributing to strategic projects and initiatives as needed Assist in administration of NetSuite and be the lead financial user Certification preferred prior to hire but can be attained shortly thereafter Lead accounting transformation projects, including continued improvement and utilization of NetSuite Manage annual GAAP audit process, with ongoing audit risk assessment throughout the year Support investor and bank requests and reporting as needed.
What you have:
10+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, with 5+ years in a Controller position Ideal experience includes a mix of Big 4 public accounting, big public companies and startups Experience with international operations and consolidation of subsidiaries CPA preferred, with strong understanding of GAAP / FASB standards and Revenue Recognition (under ASC 606) Minimum Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics and/or similar quantitative discipline, MBA a plus Experience with NetSuite is required, NetSuite Certified Financial User preferred Highly analytical and data-driven. Strong problem solving and project management skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and comfortable interacting with all levels of management Curious, motivated, collaborative, flexible, and responsive team player with a strong company growth focus Advanced MS Office skills.
