SUMMARY:September Roundtable Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:IP Valuation – Practical Considerations for Due Diligence\, IP Licensing and Enforcement\n \nJoin us for great networking an an informative presentation – Sponsored by Knobbe Martens \nIP valuation models come up frequently in the context of IP licensing programs\, due diligence\, venture capital investment\, initial public offerings (IPOs)\, and IP asset sales/liquidations.  Three primary economic valuation models (cost valuation; market valuation; and income valuation) may be utilized to assign a value to any asset.  However\, in the context of IP assets\, such as patents\, copyrights\, trademarks\, and trade secrets\, the application of many of such well-known models can present challenges.  Our discussion will include a practical discussion of the applicability of the three primary economic valuation models to IP assets and how to IP licensing programs can be built on the valuations or used drive increased IP valuation. \nSpeaker – Mauricio Uribe\, Partner – Knobbe Martens \nSeptember 17\, 2024 \n8:30-10:00 AM \nCalavista Software \n9229 Bee Cave Rd #A-350 \nREGISTER NOW

The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to celebrate the past\, present\, and future of Austin’s tech ecosystem and the individuals who contribute and are contributing to the growth and success of our region’s tech economy. \nThe event will take place on Wednesday\, May 7th from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Indeed Tower. \nWe will honor eight legacy / foundational inductees\, a 2025 inductee\, and a first time founder. \nThis event sold out last year in eight days…..so be sure to get your tickets ASAP. \nNominations for the 2025 Austin Tech Hall of Fame were open in March\, and the committee (made up of past inductees\, local community leaders\, and a few ATC Board Members) selected those being honored.  While there are dozens of people who helped create our tech ecosystem\, we cannot honor everyone at once – thus we have decided to add eight foundational inductees each year.  Nominations were open to everyone and neither the nominator nor the nominee need to have any affiliation with the Austin Technology Council. (Please note\, if someone you thing should have been honored is not on the list …YET… be sure to nominate them next year. If someone is not nominated by the “community”\, they cannot be considered by the committee.  ATC wants to make sure that the Austin Tech Hall of Fame is a grassroots program). \nThe cocktail reception on May 7th is a celebration of all things Austin\, and we invite everyone who is part of the tech ecosystem to attend. All are welcome\, it is not a curated guest list\, as one of the things that makes Austin special is accessibility to all. \nTickets will go on sale on April 3rd (or there abouts).  Check back on here or the ATC newsletter or LinkedIn page to be sure you do not miss the chance to be present at this event. \nREGISTER NOW – No Refunds for cancelation.  This event will sell out quickly. \nEvent Sponsors:\nKPMG\, Egan Nelson\, Indeed\, Reddit (more sponsor opportunities still available)\n

SUMMARY:2026 Gateway Happy Hour
DESCRIPTION:Kick off SXSW with the Austin Technology Council’s annual GATEWAY HAPPY HOUR – Monday\, March 9th.  5:30 – 7:30.  Woody’s Bar. \nFor over 20 years the Austin Technology Council has hosted a party for our local tech community in the days before the world comes to Austin for SXSW. \nThis is a “Good Old Fashioned High Tech Happy Hour”…. the kind that got everything started in Austin in the 1990s. \nLast year was the biggest one EVER. And this year we want to pack the place again. \nIt was said last year “This is the one event where you see old time Austin tech and new comers (and everyone in between) coming together to celebrate the Austin Tech Ecosystem. \nWhile out of town techies are always welcome\, this party is purposely held before the crowds arrive to bring the focus on people who come from all areas of our tech ecosystem. \n****This year we will also have the CEO’s of about 20 other Technology Councils\, as the Technology Council’s of North America organization is having their annual CEO Summit in Austin March 9-11. Thus we have invited them all to come see Austin Tech in our natural environment. \nSPONSORS:\nWeaver\nPartners Real Estate\nBracewell\nWells Fargo\n  \nREGISTER NOW
