SUMMARY:Engineering Leadership Roundtable: Understanding Your Candidate Pool
DESCRIPTION:When it comes to filling an open position\, keep in mind: You aren’t replacing Joe\, you’re hiring a developer. \nOftentimes\, when a long-term employee leaves their post\, hiring managers are stuck with the dilemma of finding a candidate who is prepared to pick right back up where the former employee left off. But this is unrealistic and unfair to potential candidates seeking to fill the position. \nHow can hiring managers narrow the scope of open positions and still draw in attractive and qualified applicants with upskilling potential? Let’s discuss at our upcoming Engineering Leadership Roundtable. \nRegister Now \nAgenda: \n8:30 AM – Check in\, network\, have breakfast \n9:00-10:00 AM – Open discussion

SUMMARY:Leadership Dinner: Turning Your Greatest Ideas into Software with High Performance Low Code
DESCRIPTION:The demands on IT are at the apex\, but there are still more apps to build\, technologies to integrate\, threats to combat and talent to find. Is the constant chasing and fixing forcing your innovation to the side? It’s time to take control of both. \nATC has partnered with OutSystems for a software-centric June Leadership Dinner\, where experts will weigh in on how: \n\nShifting your mindset can turn your development team into a high-performance innovation factory\nOrganizations exactly like yours are building web and mobile apps with radical productivity\, output and business impact\nYour existing SaaS architecture can fit into this new high-performance model.\nYour current talent and team can build the specialized applications you need for your business — in weeks and months\, not years\n\nREGISTER NOW \nAgenda: \n5 p.m. – Networking\, Drinks\, and Apps \n6 p.m. – Panel Discussion \n7 p.m. – Dinner \nMeet Our Speakers: \nAndy Wahrenberger has worked for companies such as Microsoft\, Dell\, and Progressive Insurance over the course of his 30 year career. In November 2020\, he became Director of System Architecture at OutSystems to help lead the organization’s transformation to a Cloud Native Multi Tenant platform. He’s enjoyed seeing employees embrace newer technologies and approaches to building software and succeeding together in a new paradigm. His time at Microsoft and Dell has instilled a better together strategy. He believes development and infrastructure provide the best solutions. \nMike W. Jones has over 25 years in the technology market place. He started his career at Electronic Data Systems where he was exposed to early application development disciplines and methodologies. He then spent many years helping evolve approaches to development including Information Engineering\, Component Based Development methods and Agile practices. Mike\, then spent 9 years helping OutSystems establish itself as the leader in the Low-code market before joining Do iT Lean as their General Manager for Americas. \nRon Savarese has been in the software industry since 2008 but has been chasing tech as a personal interest since the days internet speed was measured in baud. That interest in technology and staying up on current trends has been a passion for a long time and led him to where he is today. He cut his teeth initially as a database developer and architect\, having built applications while serving in the US Navy\, and then went on to eventually manage teams as a director\, CTO\, and for the past 4 years as President of MicroMain Corporation. The crowning achievement that landed him on this panel of experts – parachuting into the 6th failed iteration of a software redesign from the ground-up. One final project and 7 months later\, they had their MVP to release\, all built on a no/low-code platform. Today the company does millions in ARR and transitioned 100% of their focus to the new SaaS app built on no/low-code. \nMeet Our Moderator: \nLinda Ginac is the Chairman and CEO of TalentGuard\, a leading VC-funded SaaS company focused on changing the way global organizations manage and develop their employees. Before TalentGuard\, she founded a successful career development franchise\, The Ginac Group\, serving clients across the U.S. and Canada. Prior to this\, Linda was Vice President of Product Strategy at Cofiniti\, where she was instrumental in pioneering Cofiniti’s global entry into collaborative financial planning using cloud-based technology and helping to prepare the company for a successful exit to H&R Block. In prior leadership roles\, Linda served as Vice President of Marketing at EPSIAA\, where she led global expansion of the brand through acquisition by Fiserv\, Vice President of Business Development at Computer People and a few roles in marketing at Digital Equipment Corporation. \nLinda holds a Master’s Degree in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Norwich University. \nAbout OutSystems: \nAt OutSystems\, we change the way software is built\, so you can rapidly create and deploy critical applications that evolve with your business. Regardless of each participant’s identities and lived experiences\, the concept of how we coexist\, interact\, and impact one another is imperative to build better teams\, better connections\, and deeper relationships. \nSpend an hour reflecting on how you fit into the conversation of diversity. Coming to terms with our own unique positive and negative bias as well as how that intersects with our responsibility of perception and sense of entitlement to validation is the foundation of social justice work. Our experiences\, choices\, and impact\, both intentional and unintentional\, matter. This is the starting place. \nLearning Outcomes\n• Recognizing difference and engagement habits;\n• Personal reflection and seeking out new experiences;\n• Feeling safe and prepared;\n• Conscious and Unconscious Bias\, both positive and negative;\n• Recruitment\, Retention\, and Fit; and\n• The role of Curiosity\, Generosity\, Authenticity\, Vulnerability. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:May Roundtable Breakfast with Maura Thomas
DESCRIPTION:There’s an overlooked problem in your company and if you want to unleash the true genius of your team\, you need to solve it. \n• Do you encourage multitasking at your company?\n• Do you tell the team to be “responsive” to communication?\n• Do you say that your company has an “open door policy?” \nBelieve it or not\, these behaviors are contributing to the problem. Too many professionals (how many at your company?) go home at the end of the day and too often think\, “Oh my gosh\, I was busy all day and somehow I got nothing done!” This is demotivating\, disengaging\, and unproductive. It’s holding back your team members from having fulfilling\, satisfying work days\, and it’s holding back your company’s\nsuccess. Join us for this event and learn how to empower your team to go home every day thinking\, “Oh my gosh\, that was such a good day\, I got so much done!” It might be the best time you spend this week. \nAbout Maura \nMaura Nevel Thomas is an award-winning international speaker and trainer on individual and corporate productivity and work-life balance\, and the most widelycited authority on attention management. She is a TEDx Speaker\, founder of Regain Your Time\, author of six books\, and was named a Top Leadership Speaker in Inc. Magazine. Maura is a featured expert in major business outlets and is a regular\ncolumnist for both Forbes and the Harvard Business Review. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Presentation Skills for Executives
DESCRIPTION:Do you or someone on your team need to improve your speaking skills?  The June 27th ATC Roundtable Breakfast will be a presentation about presentations. \nBeing able to clearly and concisely share your ideas when the speaker at an event is more important than most people think. Every leader should present great content with an engaging speaking style every time they address an audience. But a busy schedule often means executives are winging it most of the time. The problem is when you wing it\, you rarely deliver the best presentation. \nAustin Technology Council CEO\, Thom Singer\, has delivered over 1200 professional presentations over 15 years.  During this time he has learned how to structure a short talk or a keynote to engage the audience. In this presentation he will share the five tips every executive should know about speaking (inside the company or to a conference audience). \nThis is a “must attend” event for everyone who wants to learn a few realistic tips on how they can be there best when they take any stage.  Be sure to bring any team member who could benefit from being a better speaker. \nJoin ATC at the new offices of Calavista Software (9225 Bee Cave Rd STE A-350\, Austin\, TX 78733). \nREGISTER NOW
