While technology is universally credited for enhancing human productivity, it is often knocked for its real and alleged negative impact on human relationships and even mental health. The pandemic era has reminded of the value of technology for communications among friends, family, and colleagues, but even so there is a feeling that technology is at best a poor substitute for other ways of we enhancing human relationships.
In this presentation, we will share some of the many ways in which technology plays positive roles in developing and sustaining human relationships of all types: from dating and romantic relationships, to friendship and family relationships, to business and coworker relationships, to supportive relationships for those steering from isolation, loneliness, difficult social conditions, or even rare medical conditions.
Technology can empower humans, even in myriad types of relationships. How can it be used most effectively? How will future technologies address current challenges and issues and further enhance human relationships? We’ll talk about everything from smartphone dating applications to virtual environments and holograms and whatever future technologies companies may provide to enhance our human relationships.
