How do counties, cities and towns deliver on the promise of Smart Cities while operating under budget constraints? This requires a framework to prioritize the key elements for maintaining progress on Smart City programs, which should also serve to help our communities as they continue to struggle under COVID-19. This session will analyze recent data benchmarking US cities on IDC’s Smart Cities and Communities Maturity Model 3.0, as well as predictions for technology transformations over the next five years, to help city decision-makers think about their plans for technology investment in the near term, while preparing for the future.

The Texas Smart Cities Series is a twice monthly online presentation from technology, business, government, and education leaders sharing about their expertise and experience in smart cities technologies and practices. This online “lunch & learn” series is held on Zoom on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 12pm-1pm CST. The speakers include a variety of experts from local, national, and global smart cities professionals.
