ATC's Head of Sales and Marketing
I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Head of Sales and Marketing for the Austin Technology Council. After spending the last week getting to work with ATC staff, members, and sponsors, I’m very excited about where we are headed as an organization and an overall community. In my role I will be working on new ways to create value for our members and grow our organization to strengthen the Central Texas technology environment. We will also strive to develop strong relationships with our corporate partners to truly understand their business needs and how we can serve to help them grow.
I look forward to working with each of you to learn about your business and how we can best serve as a partner. Thank you for your participation, and please feel free to reach out.
Barbary Sits Down with Michael Kanin to Discuss ATC
Recently I had the opportunity to sit down with Michael Kanin of the Austin Monitor for an in-depth discussion about ATC, tech and politics in Austin, our newly launched Board subcommittee, the ATC Policy Coalition, and ATC’s role moving forward as a thought-leader and collaborator in Austin’s future. It was a pleasure to share what we’ve been up to with the Monitor’s radio audience and I hope you take a listen to this then share your thoughts and let us know how you’d like to get involved.
The Austin Monitor offers in-depth coverage of Austin City Hall, the Travis County Commissioners Court, local development, business, politics, and anything that touches on our region’s many policy concerns. The Monitor is the best way to stay up-to-date on local civic concerns without having to sit through policy committee meetings and hearings yourself.
The Monitor is currently offering ATC members a 20 percent discount on a subscription with the code !ATCmem!16. Check them out here
FDA Releases Guidance on Benefit and Risk Factors of Medical Devices
On June 16, 2016 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released long awaited guidance on benefit and risk factors entitled Factors to Consider Regarding Benefit-Risk in Medical Device Product Availability, Compliance, and Enforcement Decisions. This draft guidance will be important to Life Science diagnostic and therapeutic medical device companies when evaluating appropriate responses to nonconforming product or regulatory noncompliance issues, such as determining whether to limit the availability of a medical device.
